Customer Reviews

These are exactly what I neededDecided to live on homemade soup this winter but needed a way to put all that soup into the frig. I no longer use plastic but had no glass containers large enough for 6 quarts of soup. The glass containers had to fit in my frig too--either it'd have to be completely leak proof or would have to sit upright so there's no chance of leakage (I hate cleaning the frig). These actually fit in the door of our frig. I could actually use a couple more but maybe next year. I like that they can handle very warm liquids (I don't put boiling hot things in there, I just let it cool a little), and the lids seal up very well. It's glass so you can easily clean them (if I only had a dishwasher) and they don't take on the flavor or smell of what they've been holding. If I didn't already have soup in them, I'd use them to keep my mulled wine (also a winter treat) cold so I could take only a couple mugs when we want to heat it up. These are just a good size and quite handy. 5Five StarsWorks great for brewing kombucha! 5Great for Kefir!I needed mason jars for my kefir grains, these were large enough to hold all the milk. The lids are metal and that can rust with the kefir, so I use coffee filters and rubber bands. Plastic lids would be nice but I'm okay with using coffee filters. 5Four StarsThese work amazingly well for making cold brew coffee! 4Always price checkThses jars are great but I didn't think to shop around first. The day after they shipped I found a six pack of the exact same jars at Walmart for the same price. I'm too lazy to return them and I don't need 6 right now so I kept them. I used them for laundry detergent and put a pour spout on it for easy dispensing. Looks beautiful and elevates the look of my newly renovated laundry room. 3Broke upon deliveryBroke upon delivery 1Everything needs a containerAdult life is mostly waking up, making breakfast, and spending the remainder of your day trying to find containers for all of the objects you ve sucked into your orbit over the course of your 20, 22, or 30 years. Some containers are good for information - a computer is a good container for that, for example, or a Palm Pilot, which should be brought back into circulation but the market says otherwise. Computers are not a good container for soup, however. Soup requires a watertight lid and a waterproof building material, bonus points if it regulates the temperature of the soup.Once your things are all in their containers you can go to bed feeling accomplished and complete, a relaxed sigh escaping your lips as you attain oneness with the universe.I experienced this feeling recently with the purchase of two (2) Ball Half-Gallon Jars, Wide-Mouth. Prior to their acquisition I bought some radishes at the farmers market at the end of their season. Acutely aware that it would be another year before I could conscientiously consume these little red crispy spicy starch orbs, and in apprehension of their incumbent departure, I bought four pounds, which is too much of a good thing. They are in one of these jars now, with a little vinegar and sugar and salt and water to prevent entropy from doing its thing. They taste sharp and pleasantly sour. The other jar stands empty. A good tip I can pass on is that you should try whenever possible to get ahead of the game. 5Five StarsThese are working great. Just the right size to make beet and fruit Kvass juice. 5PerfectI was worried I wasn't going to be able to use these due to being too small but they are PERFECT. I have painted them and used them as vases and quite honestly they are so cute and stylish. Not to mention they arrived promptly without any marks or problems. 5Jars came shattered poorly packagedCame home today excited to put my jars to use. One of them was completely shattered. I m even terrified to open the plastic because I may get cut. Also why in the world would somebody package them that way? Poorly packaged. Sad thing I need these jars TODAY. Waste of money and my time. Super disappointed. 1
