Customer Reviews

lots of wasted leftover wax...I read all the reviews here before purchasing this item. I also took into consideration that the company stated they have fixed the issue some of the consumers where having around the holidays (2014). Additionally, my favorite tea lights to burn are ones from GoodLights, which I believe is owned by the same people. Unfortunately, I still may have gotten one of the bad batch, or the issue is not entirely resolved. Either way, I am grateful for Amazon's policy regarding this, and will be returning the tea lights I purchased.Ironically, the first beeswax tea lights I tried, which was purchased locally, was burning like mad that I had to cut the wick to keep the flame from burning so high. This one, in contrast, burned so softly -- which I first thought was a good thing after my first experience -- but the flame was so little that it left a lot of wasted beeswax. I had high hopes; I am very disappointed with this item. The tea lights did burn for the time stated.Overall: nicely package; good looking tea lights; beeswax (slight honey) scent; no-so-great wick :( 1Essential to My Healing PracticeAs a professional intuitive, dowser and acupuncturist, I light a tealight for every single session I do with a client, so having a high quality, non-toxic, cost-effective candle is vital. I dowsed (energetically measured) ALL the beeswax candles I could find online. BlueCorn Naturals tested very high in spiritual and divine qualities that reflect Bee Medicine (qualities of Bee archetype), which supports the work I do.Even my clients with aroma sensitivities can enjoy, without distress, the calming, subtle, natural scent of warm honey in the air.For emitting even higher frequencies into my work space, I burn BlueCorn Naturals tealights inside a Himalayan salt rock candle holder, or under a small dish of high quality sea salt.Lastly, I also use these candles as gifts, even to folks who don't know or care about Bee Medicine. They respond intuitively to the calming, uplifting light these candles cast.Well done, BlueCorn! 5Naturally Perfect!I didnt know about beeswax candles until I started looking for some nice tealighta for my salt candle holders. I liked that there were already so many good reviews so I decided to give them a try. Sk glad I did! These candles do not have a heavy scent and they don't smoke excessively after you extinguish them. Since they get used in the bedroom, that's important. The burn time is decent. I am satisfied with them and will be ordering a larger package soon! 5Please don't change a thing BCN!!I hope the bees are doing well...(seen many more this past year:) because I am a total fan of beeswax candles. I also hope that Bluecorn Nat.'s keeps their product so competitively priced as it hasn't changed in over a year. These are really an affordable option for those of us who need to watch our pennies. I have to admit, I was really skeptical about the burn time on these, but in fact, they burn exactly as described when used as recommended. I use these for religious purposes so they are wonderful for use in reflection. I also have asthma and am very sensitive to paraffin and typical wicks. They don't have the same awful aroma when extinguished and did I mention they truly burn 4-5 hours?!? You can spend a little for awful quality and use that many candles/hour or less, to the 1 BCN. I REALLY hope the precious bees are doing well, love them!! 5Too much leftover wax after they burn out!!I do like these beeswax tea light candles. They burn beautifully in my Himalayan salt tealight candle holder. And I am happy that they're not contributing to indoor pollution in my home, but are actually helping to clean the air as they burn! However, like some other reviewers have stated here, I am noticing one really annoying thing....that there is quite a bit of wax left over after the tea light burns down completely. It probably wouldn't be as annoying if they were just regular tea lights that I bought for a fraction of the cost at a supercenter or grocery store, ( but I DO know and appreciate the difference, which is why I spurge on these) but these are tealights that I'm spending quite a bit of money on. I just wish the quality control was a touch better.I noticed on another customer's review, the company itself commented, saying that it was a quality control issue that occurred over the Christmas time shipments, etc, and that they have since completely resolved this issue, and I really do hope that they have. I'm going to order one more batch when my current one runs out, and check to see if there is as much leftover wax after they burn out, as with my current batch I ordered, (just a couple of months ago, as of this writing.)As a side note, I found that trimming the wick does help somewhat with this issue, but not as much as I would like, as I'm still left with too much leftover wax in my opinion. I'm seriously considering saving what is left over and using it in some of my homemade beauty recipes for lotion bars, etc. I wonder what the company would think about that? Interesting to find out if they would recommend it... 3Gettin a lot of lef over.Candles have a nice size and an amazing smell, especially I like the smell so when I'm getting them from the cabinet where I keep them I truly enjoy the strong honey wax aroma. However, you can see on the pictures a significant left over, which I cannot use any more (besides as the aroma). It looks like frome the pack of 6 the amount of left over is about the size of 1 candle. 3Candles the way they are meant to beA quick update: sometimes the candles do not burn out completely. If this is a reason not to buy them, well, it's not for me. The remaining beeswax cleans up easily, doesn't leave black soot or icky bits of wax, and it doesn't bother me. I'd still choose these over any other. High quality, subtle honey scent, and all-around fabulous candles. So here's what I wrote a year or so ago:I love candles, but regular wax and even soy candles give me headaches. I don't know that why, but it FEELS like they suck the oxygen out of the air. Plus, they leave a waxy mess that's a pain to clean. I read about beeswax candles and decided to try Bluecorn because I liked its eco- and bee-friendly website. These little beeswax tea lights burn clean--seriously clean. There are no occasional puffs of gray smoke shooting out above the flame. And -- the best part -- there is absolutely NO leftover wax once the flame goes out. None! And maybe it's my imagination, but the air actually feels cleaner afterwards; I don't have to open a window to breathe. (I'm a little nutty about fresh air.) Honestly, all I can say is that beeswax candles are so much better than regular ones, I would never go back. 5I am very disappointed with these tea lightsI am very disappointed with these tea lights. I ordered the clear holders, but the metal shipped instead. I choose not to go through the hassle of exchanging. My issue is more with the quality of the burn and burn time. These candles do not burn evenly (see photo of candle in clear holder-half the wax is left after the wick is used up); they last about 3 hours (not 5) and they are sooty (see photo of green holder, soot on rim). They are actually worse than cheap IKEA tea lights. I will not repurchase. 1The candle quality itself deserves 4 stars but I am ...The candle quality itself deserves 4 stars but I am giving one star because I bought a bunch of these and didn't open them until a month later only to discover that the tea lights came with most of the containers EMPTY and missing the actual votives. It's too late for me to file a complaint and get my money back since I missed the one month window but anybody else buying these please open and check your orders promptly to see if you are getting full 24 votives or just empty containers. 1Wonderful qualityThese tea lights burn wonderfully. Another poster stated that they tunnel and are of poor quality with a lot of wasted wax. This is not the case, dear other poster. One must, as with all candles, trim the wick before using and allow the candle to burn long enough that the top portion is liquid before blowing it out. I.e. don't just light it straightaway from the box without a trim and blow it out ten minutes later. It will tunnel then and that is no fault of the candle!Additionally, these little tea lights are quite long lasting! The one I lit today has been going for about two hours so far on my work desk and still isn't gone. It's burning very cleanly and when I blew it out earlier as a test, there wasn't any noxious black puffs of smoke from the wick like in 'fake' (soy blend, artificial, etc) candles. I can hereby say I'm a 100% beeswax candle gal from here on out! 5
