Caphalon quality is the best!Great pan for indoor cooking of fish or beef steaks...as well as many other things I'm sure, but that is primarily what we use it for. Very heavy pan, so for those with lifting problems it may be a bit hard to manage, but I love the obvious durability of it. Easy to clean, perfect size for our family of 2; could easily handle more if needed. I'm notsure if recommended to use with metal utensils, but we have for months and no scratches or loss of finish. Worth paying the extra money for a pan that will last vs my other non-stick pans. (Although Amazon sure makes it more affordable than local stores!)
5My FAVORITE thing in our kitchenMy FAVORITE thing in our kitchen!! I use it almost everyday - we've made scallops, steaks, chicken, pork chops, veggies, etc! I was skeptical on which kind to buy, and we wanted one because winter here is way too cold to be grilling outside, but I'm so glad we got this one, just bought one for my mother! Doesn't smoke up the kitchen and super easy to clean!!!!!
5Great pan, just don't broilLove this pan. We use it all the time to grill meat on the stove. Only criticism is that the description says that it is "oven safe" but doesn't specify the temperature. I would warn not to use this for broiling. It causes the pan to warp severely so now it does not sit flat on our cook top any longer. Otherwise everything with the pan is great.
4Outstanding productI can't say enough about this product. It looks great, works great and was easy to clean. It's a Calphalon product so you KNOW it's a top quality product. My grilled chicken and burgers have nice grill marks just as if it was flame broiled outside. As long as your stovetop burner cooks evenly, then so should this pan. The handle stays perfectly cool to the touch the whole time. And, you could easily clean this with a paper towel if you wanted but we stick it in the dishwasher. It's outstanding!
5Excellent pan.Excellent pan. Our last one lasted 8 years and it went through hell and back. No complaints.The new version is just as robust, but a bit beefier handle.Works on flat-top and glass top stoves. Oven safe as well for those excellent steak finishing techniques.
5Love this panLove this pan. I have a 12-piece Calphalon Contemporary pot and pan set, and was so pleased with how easily it cleaned that I decided to buy this.I'm not much for grilling--I don't even own an outdoor grill and don't plan to anytime in the near future. However, I thought this would be a great addition to my collection. We use this often for brats and hot dogs, and will likely use it this summer for steaks and salmon. Like others said, it IS bulky and awkwardly-sized, but it's perfect to grill up a decent portion of food, and it happens to fit in my largest cupboard.We usually just let the pan cool (as Calphalon demands, unless you want to potentially void the warranty) before cleaning, and it requires minimal effort to remove leftover bits of food. This would be perfect for someone who has to experience cold, snowy winters but still wants to grill!
5SuperLove having a grill pan for stove and already had a cast iron which I was finding very heavy and difficult to clean so ordered the Calphalon because I have a couple of their products which I was very happy with - just wished I had ordered this grill pan a lot sooner - does the job beautifully, so easy to clean and really light weight.
5Fantastic pan. I regularly get home chef meals and ...Fantastic pan. I regularly get home chef meals and I didn't want to buy a grill so this was the perfect compromise. I made sweet and smoky chicken skewers and they were delicious and cooked perfectly. Nothing stuck to the pan and it was very easy to clean. Size is perfect and easily fits six skewers and heated very evenly. Handle never got hot or even remotely warm. Love this pan and highly recommend it.
5Solid Grill PanSeems pretty great so far. Even heating, super easy to clean. Just run cold water over it while it s still hot then take a damp rag or paper towel to wipe away most of the gunk. Then some light dish soap with the soft side of the sponge. EZ.Nothing to say about longevity yet though. Will post back if it doesn t last! I love it so far :)
5It's inexpensive but works like a champThis is the third of these pans I've purchased in the past 20 years. It's inexpensive but works like a champ. I've purchased more expensive grill pans & am always disappointed. With this one, it's cheap enough that when it starts to stick & get a little gross I can toss it out & replace it guilt free. I've switched over, almost exclusively, to cast iron cookware but I've yet to find a cast iron grill pan that doesn't frustrate me so I'm sticking with this one for now.
