Customer Reviews

Great utensil! This has been one of my favorite utensils for decades. These are not quite as good as the originals from 40 years ago, but close! I have given many of these as gifts. This year I had to get another for my dad... ..he had told my mom he needed to tell me to get him another one some time because if this one ever broke, he didn't ever want to cook without it again! That's how I feel! I have a couple put away and have one in motorhome, too. 4Great replacement for an old standby. These things are really handy and seem to be of good quality. I panicked when I realized that a similar tool I had been using for years was about to wear out and tried to find a new one. The scoop part is almost exactly the same as the old one but the handle is longer and the plastic is nicer to hold onto than the old one that just had a metal loop. I use mine to scoop out fried or boiled foods, to stir pasta and lots of other things. I keep it in a small crock on the back of the stove with the few tools I use most often. The old one is retired to a drawer - no way will I get rid of it until it is totally demised. It was great to get three of these. I intended to have two for gifts since I know that this will be a very usable kitchen tool and even though I accidently ordered two sets of 3, I have already placed four of them. I know these will all find homes where they are used and appreciated. 5Good value - and impossible to find in storesI've used something very similar to these for YEARS - in the kitchen for frying, and I kept an old one in the utility room to scoop the cat litter with as it works MUCH better than the plastic ones sold for the purpose. Unfortunately my old ones eventually broke where the scoop is attached to the metal part of the handle (welds failed) and I couldn't find them anywhere for any price. These are more cheaply made - the metal part of the handle is flat and a little flexible, so they probably won't last YEARS. But for the price I ordered 2 3-packs and they should last me for a while. I can have one in the kitchen again, and the rest I'll keep in reserve for the litter box... 4Not heavy duty at all, poor solderThe head isn't soldered on well to the handle. One arrived busted off and out of the package of 3 we purchased....we have one remaining intact. Poor design. Should've been a rivet instead if the manufacturer was going to go that cheap on solder. The 1st two photos are of the poor product. The 3rd photo shows a very old spoon that is about 25 years old! This is how you make a spoon stay together! 2I use to scoop CAT LITTER and it is perfect. I have 2 boxes and keep one by each, and an extra on hand is unused.I use these to scoop cat litter and they work better than anything I have ever used. They are allowing a little too much between the slots but I am okay with it. I also had to bend the edges in slightly but I prefer the length and strength of this for scooping than anything I have ever see in a pet section. I use both clean plain litter and clumping litter and it works perfectly for both. The edges of the metal aren't as polished as I would have liked but I am not using them in food so it doesn't really matter. You can really scrape the bottom of the litter box with this and I recommend it. I have one extra I meant to give to my daughter or use in food but I am afraid to use the clean one in food since I have always used this in cat litter. 4Love these!I first discovered these in Woolworths more than 20 years ago when they were called Kitchamajigs. They disappeared from stores for awhile then returned as cat litter scoopers, same design different name. I prefer buying them as kitchen equipment and they are still great especially since Amazon has them in packs of 3 for such a low price! 5Chef Craft Skimmer-my kitty litter scoop works great.Great price...I have been using these as kitty litter scoops for many years. The grip is good along with the size and slots. They work great, the price is right. 5Next to my wife, this is the love of my life! Some 30 years ago, I came on one of these at a yard sale, took it home, and fell in love with it. Of course, I loved it to death - and eventually I wore the metal right off the bottom edge of the tool - but I kept right on using it - that is until the day when my wife retired it for me - it just disappeared. That began a 20 year search effort (Really!) and I never found another until one day when these showed up here on Amazon. Apparently, I'm not the only cook who once owned one and loved it - and some smart merchandiser has realized this fact. Lucky for us.I quickly ordered a set (what a deal! You get three - that means you can use one and hide the other two in a secret place for when the new one bites the dust.). However, I fear that if I don't immediately go out and order 6 more, they may just stop producing them in a year or two - and then what would I do?Really my friends - this is such a valuable kitchen tool that you deserve to treat yourself to a real kitchen classic - and Yes, you too will fall in love. 5SO glad I found these! This is exactly what we needed, we had a really old one like this that eventually rusted after like, over a decade and had to be thrown out. (honestly I'm not even sure what it's actually meant to be used for, we just used it for stuff like scooping french fries out of oil and stuff like that.) We looked everywhere for a new one, but the closest thing we could find in the stores (and I mean Walmart, Target, even Bed Bath & Beyond) was this giant, fairly flat, ladle shaped strainer? I don't know what it was, but it was not what we were looking for, and they were usually like 15 dollars for one! I am so glad we found this here, it took me forever because I had no idea what to call it! It came with three as advertised, and they all work just as well as my old one. Mom uses them for anything greasy in place of a spatula so as much grease as possible get strained out. I use them if I'm cooking a soup or stew and want to get at the chunks. It's just a great kitchen tool! 5Don t order...not good qualityDon t order.....2 of the 3 were broken and can t be returned 1
