Customer Reviews

Great blackout shades! Love these blackout curtains! They go right behind our curtains and you don t see them. It s amazing just how much sunlight they can block out out as well as how well they can keep the room cool. The photos are of my daughters nursery. This room is in constant direct sunlight and one of the hottest rooms in the house because there is no shade outside her windows. If you don t want any light coming in at all I would recommend putting them on a separate curtain rod that would be flush against the wall. My rodsextend about 3 inches away from the wall. I also need to reposition them so they meet in the middle. I have about an inch gap where the blackout shades meet. 5Good light blocking curtain liner I put these up in my daughter's room using a tension rod behind her regular curtains. They block a good amount of light, which helps for little kids' bedtimes when it's still light outside in the summer. They came with hooks to attach to the existing curtains, too. I like that they are the shorter length (length of the window itself) - they block more light because they fit the window more accurately. I tuck them around the side of the mini blinds to help keep them in place since they're a bit rigid. I imagine they'll wear in a bit and fall more smoothly as time goes on. There was no strange smell to them. 4wonderful curtain liners I'm not sure why there is a problem with measurement description, it clearly states total 54" two pieces 27".. Anyway I love these liners, used them in our RV for large front windows.. You need to make a little effort to make them work, however that isn't difficult.. I used pins to attach them to curtains [rv curtains are on rail, so you can't use curtain hooks] made a small over lap on each curtain connection & used velcro buttons to close that gap.. they block the light wonderfully, when your on the road or campground there are endless lights that make sleeping hard.. These turned out super for both blocking light and helping to keep sun out so rv was cooler and cold out to keep rv warm [dependent on weather]..I'm sure if the same effort was made to place these on house curtains it would work there also... I'll add that comment when we get home and I put them up..Oh and for other RV'ers we also used them on the sun roof panel [in shower] and over ceiling vent so light doesn't come in through there. I cut them to size and velcro buttons to attach them [that way you can remove as needed.. very easy...so the long story is i love these curtains and they do the job beautifully.... 5very effective! See pics Ever effective! I will post the pictures I took after I had put the lining on one side compared to the other, it's like night at day! (Literally!) the panels are smaller than my actual curtains but I just lined them up to go with the inside of each curtain and they cover the window just fine! The first pic is with the light off, look how dark it makes it! and my curtains are white/ivory 5I am a little disappointed with these The description says 54in by 60in. When I received them they are 28in by 60in. I ordered 2 so I could have 4 panels to cover 2 windows. Two of the liners had a tear/cut on them. I am a little disappointed with these, but I was able come up with a plan to get these to work. 2Not accurate width description The description is inaccurate and I'm annoyed about that. It says pair of 54x96 panels. A pair means two. There are two panels, however, they are a COMBINED width of 54", not two 54" panels as the description seems to suggest. I would not have purchased these if it were clear that it was only 27" wide per panel. 1Great liners, easy to install These are great. Very easy to attach to the curtains (without damaging the curtains). I think they do a great job blocking out most of the light. It's what I was looking for.My only issues are that 1 panel was too small and two panels were too big for one curtain so I had to overlap them. Now I need two more for the other side of the window. I'll add double sided fabric tape to the curtains and where the liners overlap to make them lay nicer. The other issue is the smell. They have a very strong chemical smell (like when you get a new shower curtain liner) which I don't like but I know it will go away. Otherwise very pleased! Can't wait for the other two to get here. 4Not worth it What a waste of money! These took forever to attach to my curtains, and they do darken the room, but they're destroying the curtains. Little by little, the hooks are tearing holes and now there's a gap at the top letting light in, plus my curtains are ruined. It would have taken just as long to sew the panels on with a sewing machine, and then maybe they wouldn't be torn. Plus two panels only covered one half of the window. As a temporary fix, I covered the other side with a cheap blackout curtain from Walmart. Now I wish I'd done that on both sides; it cost under $10 and worked better than these panels without damaging anything. 1A pain to install I bought these liners for three windows, each window had two panels in it, each panel got to liners. So over the course of three hours I installed 12 sets of liners for the three windows. I could ve rode put them right on A separate rod from the curtains but the best way to use them to attach them directly to the drapes which is what I did. They seem to be well-made except for one that became on loop when I was attaching it three of the loops broke so I didn t have any way of putting them into hocks. I ended up having to pin them to the back of the drapes. They seem to be decent enough for insulation not the greatest but for the price they re not bad. If you have any difficulties with arthritis or putting up traits that are all the heavy side because once you add the sliders it makes the drapes happy you ll need someone else to help you Not a one person job. 3Poor quality They definitely block out the light, but the loops that you use to attach the panels to the included hooks unravel, and now each of my panels (I got 4) is hanging by just one or two loops. Sure, I can stitch them back on, or better yet sew new loops on. But I have only had these panels a couple of months, and who wants to do that after only a couple of months of use? So, yes they block out the light, but what good is their ability to block light when they have fallen off their hooks and lie crumpled on the floor? 1
