Customer Reviews

Cold? Sore? Stiff? Buy this!My husband and I have had this heated mattress pad for two years now and it's AWESOME! I'm not sure how people sleep without it. We live in Arizona where it only gets really cold for maybe two months out of the year but we still find this to be a worthwhile investment. We shut off our heater and turn on the mattress pad to a medium-high setting (5-7) and it keeps us comfortable all night. I also prefer to be extremely warm when I sleep (basically sweating) and if I get cold I tense up and end up waking with stiff joints and sore muscles/tension headache. To avoid this I use the lower heat settings (2-4) during the spring and fall as well. The mattress pad provides a nice even warmth, no hot spots, and there is about a 16-20 inch space at the top where you place your pillow that does not heat and keeps you from feeling overheated during the night. We have not had one issue with this product since purchase and we leave it on our bed year round. I wish there was an easy way to clean it as it does have some stains on it even though we have a mattress protector over it. Overall though I think everyone should have one of these! Not only does it save you a bundle on heating costs but it can also provide some relief for sore muscles/joints. Your pets will love it as well!Edited 1/26/16:Just wanted to add a picture of the control. For the size we ordered there are two separate wired controls, one on each side of the bed. The wiring is not quite long enough to allow them to sit nicely on a bedside table so we keep ours under the bed, behind the bedskirt and use our toe to turn them on when getting ready for bed. They are very basic with an easy to read screen and they do light up when a button is pressed for those middle of the night adjustments! 5Great heat, poor side materialMy husband and I love the even, radiant heat from this mattress pad. We do not feel the wires or hot spots. I gave it only 3 stars because the side fabric is too delicate. The sides are a very light weight material and the elastic is extremely thin. The fabric tears very easily along the elastic seam. I have only had this a few months and just from tucking it under the mattress I have at least 4 holes in it. At this rate it will not last very long. This is a major issue that needs to be improved upon. We have an Olympic queen size and at the price I cannot afford to replace it every few years. I would buy another in a heart beat if they improve the side material. 3ON a regular bed they would be perfect as they are cushy and heat up quickly butI put these on my beds and raised them up to lie on thumbnut they slipped down making a lump under my sheet. They were returned. ON a regular bed they would be perfect as they are cushy and heat up quickly but...on a split bed that raises up and down - nope! 3Perfect for those cold winter nights! One of the better purchases I've made for our camper. We have a 34' Heartland Wilderness travel trailer that we occupy full-time during the work week. To save money, we do not run the furnace/use the propane. Instead, we rely on space heaters to keep us warm. Unfortunately, due to the size of the trailer, we can't keep it at a comfortable temperature without tripping a breaker. This heated mattress pad does the trick! Even though we have outlets at the head of the bed on both sides, we went with the one control unit. There was another review about the issue running the cable from the foot of the bed to the outlet without putting it underneath the mattress. We have an elevated platform that our Short Queen sits on so we had the same issue. Fortunately, with the storage space underneath, i just drilled a couple of holes and ran the cable under the platform to the power outlet at the head of the bed. I am able to store the extra cable under the bed (but not under the mattress!).Like other reviews, it is difficult to see it in the dark. If you set it before bed and don't anticipate changing the power level, it shouldn't be an issue for you. Even when the temperature drops into the low 30s/high 20s, setting it at 2 or 3 usually keeps us plenty warm (we live in the South). While we did buy the Short Queen, we did also buy the Short Queen Bed Extender from Camping World: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/short-queen-bed-extender/85094We did not put the mattress pad over the extender portion. We do not feel it is a problem not having the heat run the entire length of what would be a regular size Queen.Overall, if you can live with the difficulty of seeing it in the dark, I highly recommend this heated mattress pad. The fit is perfect and it is easy to set up. We can feel the heat throughout the entire length/width of the mattress. 4Finally my bed is warm! The Electrowarmth Mattress Pad is superior to any of the electric blankets I've used in the last 30 years. When you use a heated blanket, more than half the heat escapes up, away from you, so you get little only a little heat from a blanket. But a mattress pad is under you so heat doesn't escape... it goes up to warm you. I think even the heat that goes down eventually is conducted back up to you, so you're warmer. I find that I use this in a low setting, L or 1, and it keeps me warm all night. When you first turn it on it fires up extra warm for a few minutes, so you don't have to do any adjusting to preheat your bed; it's a nice plus. The only downside, as others have pointed out, is the controller light goes off rather quickly and in the dark you can't tell by looking if it's on or not. It's true that all you have to do is push a button; if the light comes on, it's on, and if it doesn't come on it's off. Of course, that still doesn't indicate what the status was before you pushed the button (well, presumably, if you turned it on, it was off, and vice versa, but you might have pushed one of the up or down buttons and not the power button, so you can't be sure). I understand that, but it IS confusing and I really would rather not have to think about it that much when I'm trying to sleep. The company says it's to save power, but they could light it with an led and use very little power. They should change this feature.Electrowarmth is available in more sizes than other manufacturers; that was important. Be sure to check actual measurements on your mattress and don't just go by size names. I found Twin XL from one company was really just the shorter twin length, and from Electrowarmth Twin XL is longer than my Twin XL mattress. But by checking the size in inches, I got a pad that was exactly right. I also liked that the electrical connection is just off the end of the pad, while another manufacturer had it on top of the pad, in the middle, right where my feet would be.I also I like that it is made in the USA.The sides could be a bit deeper to accommodate today's thick mattresses, but I was able to get the elastic edges to just barely fit. You can have one made with deeper sides by calling the factory and paying a bit extra, but they really should make this standard. My mattress is new but not overly thick, and it barely fits.In summary, I'm giving this 5 stars because it does the job better than anything I've bought in the past, and it's the right size. I've been using it for about two months so I can't attest to how long it works. If I could I'd give it four and one-half stars because of the controller light, but I don't want to go as low as four. I think you'll be pleased with this purchase. 5Satisfied in MinnesotaI've been using the Electrowarmth heated mattress pad for about a month. It is the full-size (for double bed) with one control. It works fine and was easy to set up. I called Electrowarmth to ask if I should put my existing mattress pad (not heated) over the Electrowarmth before putting the fitted bottom sheet on the bed. The answer was yes--because it would keep the heated mattress pad cleaner longer. The less often the user has to wash it, the longer the heated pad will last. My call was answered promptly by an employee in Electrowarmth's facility in Ohio. I appreciated being able to speak with someone who was a fluent English speaker. Before ordering the Electrowarmth product, I had debated about ordering a cheaper heated mattress pad from another company. The very positive reviews on Amazon convinced me to go with the Electrowarmth, as did the information on the Electrowarmth website [..]. The Electrowarmth pad cost about $130 on Amazon. I live in Minnesota, and decided if any one needs a top-of-the line heated mattress pad, it is the chilly residents of our state. It is early in our winter season. I will add more information at the end of the season (about April-May 2017--we have LONG, COLD winters here. 5Junk!I bought this VERY expensive mattress pad for my Mom's bed & was looking forward to keeping her toasty warm this winter. The pad worked twice, then consistently began failing (with the letter F appearing on the control). Now I don't dare use it as it clearly has an electrical problem. What a waste of money! 1Good product, heats evenly. It heats evenly across the whole bed. I bought the ONE control model for my Queen sized bed. Like most electric heated mattress pads, the wires on this one are uncomfortable. That is NOT a flaw, that is a drawback on the "mattress pad" style. BUT, I found a solution. You've seen those 3' x 5' rolled up blankets in the grocery stores, or at K-Mart.. they range from $4 -$7. I put one on TOP of this mattress pad, and then I put the sheet on the bed. That was just enough padding to eliminate the discomfort from the stiff wires. 4Works great, until it doesn't work at allI was actually going to give this 4 stars yesterday. It's very comfortable, heats up quickly and evenly. I don't like that the elements aren't the full length of the pad, which would've cost one star. However, I went to turn it on for the THIRD time and it no longer works. This was so expensive to only last two uses. Of course, since I bought it in the summer (they have a tendency to be sold out or more expensive once fall hits), I'm outside of the 30 day return period and cannot find any way to contact the seller. 1... our third mattress warmer and by far the very best one. The warmth goes all the way down ...This is our third mattress warmer and by far the very best one. The warmth goes all the way down to where your feet are, and not underneath your pillow or head. The heat is evenly spread, there are no hot spots underneath the heavier parts of your body. It gives some cushion, we bought the King and it fits nicely on our mattress. We turn it on about a half hour before we retire, the bed isn't hot like it was with our other ones, but comfortable. My husband loves the consistency of the heat, he sets it on one setting and leaves it there all night. I change my settings occasionally, which leads me to my only complaint- the controls. The backlight is a very dim green, difficult to read the numbers, and it shuts off, leaving you searching for the proper buttons if you desire to change your setting during the night. Otherwise, it is a superb warmer! 5
