Customer Reviews

Arrived broken Arrived broken. The main reason I purchased this was for the peeler to use in my bar for garnishing cocktails. The actual peeler blade insert was broken inside of the package. I never even had a chance to test it out but seeing as how it was already broken, I cannot imagine it would've lasted long at the bar. I should've known better and just bought a regular kitchen utensil instead of something labeled "worlds greatest".... 1Great quality and size, not sure about measurementsGreat quality, I love the size it's on the bigger side IMO I've never owned another jigger before for comparison.I'm not too sure about the measurements as the inside of the larger side says "1.5oz" and the outside says "2oz" on the exact same spot. This doesnt really matter to me because I use it at home, for myself a majority of the time and dont mind over pouring. Before owning this I would just pour my liquor straight into my cup lol.5Great for making drinksAfter reading reviews decided to buy this for making Manhattan s. It doesn t spill like a regular shot glass when you pour it in a glass etc. The large end is the same size as a shot glass. Works great!5So cute and great quality! This might be the cutest cocktail shaker on the market. It is gorgeous stainless steel and in addition to the cute penguin head it also stands on little penguin feet and it has two little penguin arms at the sides. Great quality conversation piece... and it works! 5holds alcoholPretty nice. Good construction, although feels a little dinky, and maybe it's just my clumsiness, but I usually spill a little out as i'm trying to get anything from the jigger to the receptacle of choice. it'd be nice if there were a quarter ounce marker, but other than that it's fine. I do seem to gravitate towards another jigger I own most of the time, but this one mostly does the job.4Good build. Cheap. Internal lines clearly marked at 1/2, 3/4, and 1.5 ozOn the smaller 1 oz side, there are markings at 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz. On the big 2 oz side, there is a inner line for 1.5 oz. Great build quality given the super low price. It took some time getting used to dumping fast into glass using a tall Japanese style jigger, but the margin of error for pouring to the internal lines is night and day better than the short style jiggers. I also find it easier to pour full 2 oz pours without drag pouring using the tall style jigger vs the short style jiggers. If you don't pour until you get a full meniscus with the short style jiggers, it's very easy to underpour. If you have never done so, I recommend measuring 1.5 oz exactly and then transferring the 1.5 oz into a short style 2 oz jigger and it will *blow your mind* how close 1.5 oz is to the top of the 2 oz jigger.5No internal markings, less than 1.5 oz I just got this and reading all the mixed up reviews for mixers and this jigger. The jigger I got has 42ml on outside of bigger end and 28ml in outside of shorter end. There are no engraved internal markings to indicate exact levels. So, 1.42 oz and .98 oz. I want 1.5 oz for the drinks I'm making- yeah some might say oh close enough. Shame it seems solid. Annoying, this is going back to China. And Amazon straighten out the reviews. 2Must haveI personally have been getting more used to doing mixed drinks. I needed something more reliable when getting the correct amounts in the drinks. This is great as it has different measurements, and has really improved efficiency.5Handsome and effective. A sharp addition to our bar set and it doesn't get 'stuck' like many other shakers when it gets cold. We've had it now for months, maybe a year and it's still in perfect shape...and we use it a lot! 5Looks nice and good to be able to measureLove that I can now measure the amount of liquor I m putting in my drinks and this looks very nice too! You can t really tell how it s constructed when just looking at the outside.5No 1/4 oz. measurementIf you're fine with slightly inexact measurements in your drinks then this should be fine, but why settle? Anyone who has ever made drinks with exceptionally strongly flavored ingredients like Fernet Branca, green chartreuse, or over proof rums will appreciate how little extra it takes for a drink to go from balanced to one ingredient throwing it out of whack. These ingredients are usually incorporated into the drink in degrees of a quarter, and sometimes an eighth of an ounce. There is no quarter ounce measurement here, so you're basically eyeballing it. The graduations that are included are also hard to read and hitting the one ounce pour just right can easily lead to an overspill...plus, as best as I can tell, the one ounce pour is actually slightly incorrect, though not too terribly off the mark. In any case, none of these criticisms apply to the Oxo jiggers.1Reduces mess associated with spring strainers. We Drink cocktails and have several shakers. We own a traditional chrome tumbler w/ large glass shaker - without strainer (old style) we sometime s have to use. It s messy when you have a pretty full tumbler. Lots of edge spillage. Pilot error maybe. The spoon strainer really beats the spring strainer spill-wise. Much easier to use! Much easier to see/control. It s actually for Juleps to strain mint and is great for muddled drinks. 5ADORABLE & great for my use (Iced Coffee shaking) Re: HIC Penguin Cocktail Shaker, 18/8 Stainless Steel, 18-ounceJust got this thing in the mail & already used it to make 3 iced coffees from my Nespresso Evoluo Vertuo machine.FINALLY something that not only works, doesn't leak, won't CRACK when I shake it or explode when hot coffee is poured over the ice, made of 18/8 stainless steel (like silverware so won't rust), perfect size, and makes me so happy when I look at how cute it is!You don't need a Nespresso machine, you could just use regular coffee.I pre-make coffee ice cubes & use 3 to 4 big ones (just barely sticking up out of the bottom half of the penguin), add some creamer, then it perfectly fits under the machine's spout. I squeeze 2 or 3 rounds off the same pod (trust me it is still STRONG), add the top pieces back on, SHAKE really hard (NO LEAKS!), take the top pieces back off and just drink from the bottom half cup.It would make a seriously great gift (who wouldn't smile when they see this) and not just cocktails can be made with it.Impressive quality was a surprise since that seems to be lacking here lately. Excellent find! :) 5Perfect.We got this to replace the "highly recommended" OXO Steel Double Jigger that we bought in April. The OXO is now in the Goodwill pile. Amazon probably would've taken it back but they just sell stuff, they don't design it. And it's our fault for picking something on looks rather than figuring out that OXO just made theirs to look like a cross between their logo and a martini glass, caring nothing about function.Where the OXO would spill liquid any time you got even close to filling it, this HIC comfortably transports liquor-to-glass flawlessly. This is what you need if you need a cocktail jigger.Inexpensive, well made, well designed, perfect.Recommend 100%5Good quality and tall design. Measures 5 volumes.Really cool looking bar tool. Good quality and love that it has markings for 5 measurements. Measures 1/2 oz (aka 1 tablespoon) 3/4 oz (45ml) 1 oz.,1.5 oz (jigger) and 2 ounce.5wrong oz sizeWrong ounces. The two ounce side features an accurate 1.5 ounce line but the two ounce side is waaaaaaayy over. Easy to test by filling the 1 oz side and doubling it in a glass. When I poured it in the 2 oz side, it was short. Wtf!?2
