    Same seat the toilet came with. This replaced the one that came with the toilet, which broke at a hinge when my husband fell against it. Can't find them in the big box stores that sell the toilets. I love this seat. Lid hides the seat, which is a design feature I like. Its very light weight, and closes slowly and quietly. The seat hinges, however, depend on little plastic rods (for lack of a better word) that are part of the seat. One breaks, and it can't be fixed, and the seat sits askew. Very poor design. That said, I love the seat itself, and that is why I didn't replace it with a sturdier, heavier one. 5Great product, easy installation. The seat arrived on time and was in perfect condition, thanks to the secure packaging. Installation was very easy. The color matches my toilet perfectly, although I had to guess at the color because Kohler does not seem to provide an easy way to determine the color of my toilet.Because the top cover completely covers the seat, the seat is slightly smaller than my old seat. Initially I thought this would be a problem, but it is not. The seat is different from my old one, but it is comfortable.For a day or two after installation, the seat squeaked a bit when I sat down. Now, however, it is quiet, and is also very stable.I really like the slow close feature. Overall I'm very satisfied with the product, and would buy it again. I was initially put off by the price, but this seems to be a quality, well-made product, and is worth the price. 5Not a very high seat I bought this to replace a broken seat. The dimensions of the seat seemed like it would fit the dimensions of the toilet in terms of width and depth. It ended up being around 1/2 inch short of fitting the toilet bowl. The top of the seat is wider than the bottom, with the seat part fitting into the top part when the lid is closed. That makes it difficult to raise the seat, as the seat is concealed in the lid. The old seat was over an inch high, just the seat part. The new one isn't even 1 1/2 inches counting both seat and lid. I don't like the seat and will just have to live with it until it breaks. Ordering and shipping of the seat was fine. Merchant was good. Merchant isn't responsible for the seat itself. 3Seat breaks away to easily from anchor bolts and slides to either side off toilet. while the seat ecstatically is impressive the snap away flange design (seat anchor bolts) gives way to easily and over time the cover for each anchor bolt breaks away to easily (by design). This means the seat breaks away from its original position and slides off the toilet. The design has to be looked at - would not recommend this seat. 1A Most Agreeable Seat! This is a quality toilet seat that looks great, is easy to install, is durable, and is easy to keep clean. After buying some of the cheaper alternatives, I found this Kohler seat is at the happy medium between expense and value. The design is subtly modern and, as such, provides a gentle update to older, dated toilets. From a practical perspective, the seat does, with aplomb, all that one expects of a toilet seat. Once installed correctly, the seat doesn t shift while in use, closes quietly, and provides a hygienic and comfortable place to plant ones posterior. The price is neither the cheapest nor the costliest, but resides in that desirable spot of a good value. 5NOT AS ADVERTISED If you sold me a "space ship" but delivered the finest Rolls Royce on the planet it doesn't matter that it's a nice car....because you said "it's a space ship."This toilet seat is well made and it looks nice. HOWEVER, it is NOT as described. This seat shifts around like the one I took offf. The rubber feet are tiny and don't hold it in place. For $37 I'd expect it to work. Glad I didn't pony up for the night light version (which has terrible reviews)This is going back.NOT AS ADVERTISED. 1Save the box! I love this soft closing QUIET toilet seat. When I pulled it out of the box I couldn't find any instructions or manual and thought. "Ok, no big deal", thinking it would be a simple installation. So, I proceeded to do the install only to discover the assembled toilet seat sat crooked on the toilet. To be honest I was a bit perplexed. What was I missing? Why was it crooked? Why didn't it fit the shape of my toilet bowl?At that point, I thought I would have to return the seat but to troubleshoot it, I decided to move the seat to another bathroom/toilet to see if that would make any difference. However, after removing the seat entirely, I NOTICED the "+" symbol on the black hinge mounts (part no1086972) and wondered what they meant.I then attempted a second installation, carefully dissecting all the parts, esp the mounts, ensuring I proceeded with an identical symmetrical installation and suddenly the toilet seat sat perfectly on the toilet. After all that, I found the INSTRUCTIONS on the back of the box and actually read something that referenced the hinge mounts wherein it spoke of a scalable alternate installation lengths.In other words PLACING the "+" SYMBOL toward either the back or the front will produce a shorter and or longer installation and if you accidentally install them in opposite directions you will have a crooked seat that is loose. Given this feature is NOT noted in the highlighted features list I would guess some people might have installed their toilet seats incorrectly. It's hard to believe with only 7 pieces that seem so basic and straightforward that it could be so complicated. This should have been a 10 min install but took much longer because I was baffled. It would be helpful if Kohler would make those "+" plus symbols in red or yellow so one is prompted to take notice of them. 5did not fit and first one was broken! i actually bought this seat twice! the first one came cracked and i neglected to test fit it- just sent it right back for another.the second one was fine but when i test fit- it was too narrow and the seat is uncomfortable.it looks great with the top down but terrible with the seat up. i have a basic round toilet with a basic bemis slow close- i was ready for an "upgrade" but this one was not it. my old basic bemis fits better and is more comfortable. 2Not as good quality as the original ones This is lower quality than the original Kohler seat I had. The "foot pads" under the seat used to be solid plastic and now they are smaller and have cutouts to save the company 10 cents. I believe the seat is a bit thinner too. The new one is more prone to slip sideways on the toilet.Still, if you want the top cover the sides, then you don't have many choices. It is really nice to have the side cover, makes your toilets look nicer. 3Super Nice Looks, with the Expected Kohler Quality Bought this as a replacement for an old model (not this one) Kohler elongated toilet seat installed on a Kohler toilet, after a master bathroom remodeling. I can say the harder part was removing the old toilet seat with the screws stuck after several years of use; I installed it in a breezeIt looks sleek and modern, it really changed the look of the toilet and it now combines better with the modern look of the bathroom. The Quiet-Close technology is also very nice, no more "bangs" from falling seats and it works perfectly. It also comes with a couple of rubber pads on the seat that sits directly on the toilet, preventing it from sliding sided to side which is a common problem with these plastic seatsInstructions are on the box, so make sure you keep the box for installation. Not that you need instructions to install it, it is fairly easy and common knowledge based, but just in case. The only complain I have is a squeaky sound coming from the hinges when opening it fast, but I have noticed the squeak have diminished after several up and downs. But this is not enough for not considering it a great product 5
