over priced but I like itif you have a small wrist be prepared to take several links out ( I had to take 5 out) for it to fit my Apple Watch. so take the links out that you would use the least. it will take some thinking and adjusting being the links are not the same size.4More of a jewlry than a useful toolVery uncomfortable to use, and can't reach most crews that are in a hole. I could use it to fix my laptop on my vacation, so I can see it's use but all the tools are too small fro my bike and too big for my phone. If there were more optional pieces it would be 10 times better. As it is, it's not very useful. Probably if you are a McGuyver and you are in such situation, it will be a big help for you. Regardless I take it everywhere with me. Just in case. And it looks stylish too.3FakeI got a counterfeit item from this seller.I didn't realize it right away because it's a very good copy but it didn't take long for it to show sides of tarnishing and then I realized that it doesn't have an actual carbide glass breaking tip, it's just the same metal as the rest of the link. Then I noticed from a real version of this item that the clasp is dull on the fake and brushed to an almost polished finished on the real one. Buyer beware.1Great idea but not practicalWas very excited when I first heard about this leatherman utility tool bracelet, but was equally disappointed upon receiving it. Although it seemed very sturdy and well-built, the design of this tool is extremely flawed in my opinion. The biggest problem that was evident to me instantly is that the standard size of the bracelet is noticeably larger than the average males wrist, meaning it will be necessary for most men to remove a link or two immediately and sacrifice some of the tools in the process. With each link consisting of two tools, don't be surprised if your short up to four tools in order for it to fit properly. And because each link has two tools fixed on them, you don't have complete independence as to which tools you choose to remove, you're forced to decide which set of tools to do away with as opposed to picking them individually. The odds of the two tools you would prefer to remove being on the same link are pretty small so prepare yourself to sacrifice a tool you would like to keep. I was wanting to add the watch face to the bracelet but that would have required me to drop another two links, leaving me short 4 links (8 tools). The price was not terrible but a little too high in my opinion and way too high after realizing I had to discard a couple links to make it fit and four links to add the watch. I'm a big fan and supporter of leatherman products generally but this one didn't make the cut in my book. I will continue to carry my leatherman wave everywhere I go but I returned this bracelet for a refund.2It s handy.... beautiful... eye catcher... but! It s a sturdy and a heavy duty item, it s used for the quick fixes I don t recommend it for a full project, the tungsten piece fell off the second week, even though I didn t use it. I would have removed it but i needed the other part of the link.I had to remove 7 links for it to fit my wrist attached to the Apple Watch and the adapter links. It is easily adjustable which is an excellent feature. It feels heavy bu it is not.100% Conversation starter. The cutter link is an amazing tool. Very very useful.I gave it three stars for the fallen tungsten piece and the fact that I had to buy an adapter link to use this as a watch strap. (It could be part of the links, i don t see why not)Thanks. 3More useful than expected.Well, $200 is a lot of money for a multi-tool, especially one that is not a direct replacement for a standard Leatherman. If you are looking for a good daily use multi-tool spend 50% less money and get a much more useful Victorinox Spirit X, or the classic Leatherman Wave. The pliers alone on those tools make them much more useful. That all out of the way I can say that this is once slick piece of jewelry. Looks are subjective, but I like how it sits on my wrist. I like to wear watches and bracelets, so this is right up my alley. It seems well engineered and machined. Each link is retained by heavy slotted screws that are easily driven by a coin, so you do not really need any uncommon tools to swap links. Each of these screws are designed to bottom out, so they screw down tight and don't come loose, while keeping the links freely swinging. I really like that attention to detail. I have smaller wrists and needed to remove a couple links, this reduces the number of tools and I greatly dislike that, however it has not been a deal breaker because there is some redundancy of tools between links.I really thought it would be a trinket, neat looking garbage. First day I wore it I used it more than 10 times. Now i wear it every day.Worth the $200? I cannot say for certain, it is to me because of the jewelry factor and that it gets through TSA. You might have different thoughts.5Works great when you need a tool and have it right ...I wear it everyday and get compliments and questions all the time. Works great when you need a tool and have it right there with you. I fly internationally 20 or more times a year and have not had a problem going through security.5Great, but can't fine tune bracelet size. Great design. Only flaw is not enough adjustability. I wear the full bracelet. If I take out the smallest link as indicated for sizing, it's too small. Needs a small spacer or system like stainless steel dive watch bracelets have, with holes and pin to get a fine adjustment. 5Clever Idea, Hope They Add Even MoreI've been wearing/using my Leatherman Tread for about 2 months now and I think that after the initial honeymoon period, I can now give it pretty fair assessment. With many more good traits than bad balanced against cost, I would rate it a "very good" (not perfect yet).I'm not a big jewelry person and have consistently eschewed big, chunky, Rolex-type jewelry watches and bands as too ostentatious and impractical. But, I found an increasing need for a "dress" watch (to go with suits as sports watches just look inappropriate) and the Tread seemed to perfectly fulfill my wishes to look respectable, while remaining practical/prepared at heart. The Tread is unexpectedly comfortable. It has not pinched, pulled out hair, scratched me, or left deep permanent tool marks. Except for the exceptional heaviness, I would not notice it much at all. After sacrificing two full links, it fit my wrist perfectly. So far it has only accidentally unclasped once during an especially energetic hand tool movement (crushing salt) and even then, the watch stayed around my wrist. I had much initial concern about the SAE screws that held all the links together, but after two months, I have not noticed any unwanted loosening. I continually monitor these parts and post an update later if it becomes a problem. There's always LocTite I suppose. Note: I wear mine almost constantly now (outdoor work, in the shower, immersion in seawater) and it shows no sign of corrosion. The tools do scratch the surface, but I expected that.To my surprise, the most used and useful tool(s) happened to be the Allen hex keys. There are two in particular that I used several times a week for my takedown recurve bow and my special optics. They are not the most ergonomic tools to access and deploy, but I can say that they function adequately AND, more importantly, they are now always with me on my wrist. The Phillips is probably my next most used tool and, honestly, it is rather hard to deploy and impractically short for much more than a quick tighten on a surface screw. Nevertheless, it is there which is the point. I have used the little cutter-hook blade to conveniently cut cord and wire (particularly when whipping out a knife blade seemed inopportune). Though I have not used it, yet, it gives me peace of mind to have a back-up glass breaker always handy and it obviates a need for me to carry an additional special tool just for that function. The same goes for the O2 wrench. I'll probably have no use for the various hex cut outs, but who knows. So overall, I like it and am happy with it's functionality and general design. It works well as a comfortable, decent-looking watchband. It works adequately for basic tool needs. I think I am fair in down-grading it a Star for it's function limits, for it's heaviness (which could be alleviated with Titanium, hint, hint!), and, alas, it's value/price.Also, this last section is not part of the critique, but simply an expression of wishes and suggestions for future improvement. Let customers choose link sets (metric/SAE). By including both, it takes up valuable link space with almost redundant sizes. Also, consider, an all Robertson link and an all Torx link. Some links have a nice hollow space horizontally through the link and I was initially very excited about them since they seem sized to fit the Bit Kit bits, but..... no. So why not? Make one of the vertical holes a bit-driver socket and allow "extra" bits to be carried "in" the band. There are many tools/accessories/gadgets that I would love to see added to the links: mini-whistle, handcuff key, bit-sized pen, replaceable flint/ferrocerium bar, screw-on watertight compartment (for battery, pill, tinder), removable magnifying lens, and perhaps a general slide-in adapter which holds other things hands free, like a micro LED light.4GREAT!! very handy. uses often. very durable.only problem is screws can back out. lost one but contacted leatherman and they replaced for free.screws have no loctite due to manufacturer expecting links to be removed or added. 5Looks awesome as a watch bandI'm using this as a watchband, to do this you will need to purchase the treadlinks separately and know the correct mm size of the lugs on the watch you plan to attach it to. Its looks really cool and beefy, but you will lose about 1/2 the links on the bracelet, I'm a pretty big guy and have 4 links and the clasp. Looks great with the Samsung gear S3 frontier.5Not recommendedI cannot recommend this Leatherman Tread. I purchased it with the intent to install a Samsung S3 watch on it. This requires an adapter kit, which I also purchased. The Tread arrives much too large for the average wrist, and you must remove links. Thus, you can't wear the Tread without removing some of the tools you have purchased and, assumedly, wanted to use. This is a significant design limitation. In addition, it was ridiculously hard to remove the links and adjust the band to fit my wrist. Small spacers are apparently available, but not provided. I have the Tread reasonably well sized now, and it is quite uncomfortable. The Tread is just too heavy and bulky for normal use. Or extraordinary use! Because of the problems setting up this poorly thought out device, it is not for the faint of heart. Sturdiness and durability not known at this time.1I Don t Leave Home Without ItThe Good 1) stylish bracelet2) multiple tools in one3) good for odd jobs such as changing a light switch panel or other screwing/unscrewing items with a flat surface4) the mini-knife blade cuts paper like butter, but I d be concerned about cutting something much coarser and possibly ruining the bladeThe Bad 1) not good for recessed screws, nuts, and bolts2) I bought a black one and I m already seeing some small signs of scoring (perhaps silver/gray would have been a better color choice)3) I haven t really had an opportunity to use the sockets; normally most odd jobs just involve a flathead or Philip s head screwdriver if you re traveling (I don t carry socket heads around with me)Overall it s a great conversation piece at work or at personal outings. Nice product.5
