Customer Reviews

Fixed the ProblemFirst time repairing the handle and overall it was not too difficult. All the parts necessary were included, but it was primarily just the plastic clip that needed replacing, so having to purchase all the other parts wasn't necessary. I would recommend verifying which parts you need before purchasing this product, while it has a lot of good parts, most of them in the existing handle are well made and strong, thus should not be the problem. If you only need the plastic clip, it may be worth looking for just that part for less money. That certainly isn't this product's fault, it clearly shows what is included. Only concern with this product is the lack of any instructions - at all. While most of the parts are easily observed when removing the existing handle, the plastic part that commonly breaks obviously falls apart and it is not possible to see how it was connected. That results in you having to make various attempts at figuring out how to install the plastic clip. Even online manuals don't picture how the plastic clip goes on, they simply show an exploded view of all the pieces. In short - great product, includes everything you'll need, but may be overkill on purchasing parts so verify what parts you need first. Second, this product should include some instructions.4Even a mom can fix the faucet now !I ordered this kit when the faucet handle in the kitchen broke. I had bought the universal replacement from the local home improvement store which did not fit on my Moen faucet . This kit was my last hope as I wanted to save money by just replacing the handle not the entire faucet .The kit came with detailed and easy to understand directions and I was able to replace the broken handle even before my husband came home .5Parts Didi Not FitMy faucet was purchased originally at Home Depot. I learned Moen makes faucet for home depot but the standard Moen parts do not work and in many cases are not available. I returned these parts without a problem. I then went to a local plumbing supply and they told me what I had already learned. They could not supply the parts and I was told to call Moen directly. While moen does make this type facuet they no longer make the specific model made for Hone Depot. So, no rplacement parts. Before you order replacement parts you need to determine if the facuet is made and sold as Moen or as speciality item for a chain.1exactly what I needed to fix my leaky sinkI went to a local hardware store and they were going to have to order me this part, and it would have cost me more, so I found it on Amazon. It was shipped quickly and fixed my leaky handle issue on my kitchen sink! I was able to do it myself after watching youtube repair video...fairly quick and very inexpensive fix.. much better than calling a handyman or plumber!5Saved my bu*t!! Our Moen faucet had developed a serious "wobble problem" in the handle, and was getting annoying. It got to the point where it wasn't shutting off completely all the time. Took it apart and found that the little black plastic piece was shredded somehow. Found this kit, and after 20 minutes, good as new! 5Worked for *old* 7400 faucet (might be Adler series low profile)We have a very old faucet - it's definitely a 7400 series (marked on faucet stem) and I think it's a Adler series low profile. It was leaking from the faucet spout end unless you swiveled the handle all the way to the far right or far left. At first, we took apart and reassembled the old parts several times. Still leaked. Then we decided to have our plumber-in-law install a new faucet but the nut underneath was not going anywhere ... would have had to actually remove the sink & ergo destroy the counter to get at it. Bought this kit and replaced all parts "upwards" from the cartridge. En voila - no leak. Very happy. However. The parts are not labeled and as the kit also includes parts for the 7100 series (I think), it's somewhat confusing. And the assembly instructions are not the greatest *especially* the close up illustration of the most vital part of the assembly. We thought one part was defective (white plastic swivel stop) even though it was identical to the original as it was not sitting flush so we just proceeded ahead stacking the parts in the correct orientation and screwed everything down. Which presented another problem: as we learned through experience during the initial reassemblies of the old parts, you have to use the allen wrench to hold the brass stem still while you screw the nut down (which requires yanking upwards on the brass stem to expose the hole that the allen wrench inserts into. Sooooo not clear in the directions.5Perfect fitWhen taking apart faucet to replace leaking valve, many other pieces wouldn't come off. Probably seized solid because of hard water deposit. Bought this and fixed the faucet. Much cheaper than buying a whole replacement faucet.5Versatile Rebuild Kit Moen supplies all the parts, and then some, to rebuild our out-of-production faucet. Followed a how-to video on YouTube and got .pdfs from Moen. Saved the cost of a plumber's service call. 5workwd great on my 10yr old men faucet.Worked like a charm and saved me $120 on a new faucet. My handle broke off and this fixed it.If your faucet is leaking, stop by the local hardware store and for a few bucks get the actual valve rebuild kit as well, then you have a new faucet.5It's hard to rate a product like this due to conflicting feelings of a) the replacement ...It's hard to rate a product like this due to conflicting feelings of a) the replacement kit itself and b) the Moen product it's fixing. The kit itself has the parts needed to fix the faucet, so overall I believe it succeeds in what it set out to do. However, I feel there is an inherent weak spot in the faucet by using a plastic piece with a small plastic lip that is the lifting mechanism to open the valve itself. This is the piece that failed by snapping in half, and unfortunately, the replacement piece is also plastic. It seems like if they had made it with some sort of metal that the longevity would be much longer.Fortunately, the price of this kit remains affordable so a repair doesn't set you back much at all.4Easy install, great price. Worked perfectly and save me from having to replace a nice faucet with an inexpensive one as I am on a tight budget these days. No special tools needed, Moen brand, safety-sealed and exactly as described. It was actually a bit more than I needed as only one plastic bit had broken, but we replaced it all since we had it. Thanks Moen, for having parts so I could fix rather than buy new. 5Incomplete Kit-- Missing the WASHERWe purchased this to fix our Moen faucet-- mainly for the washer because they're so hard to find in the "box store." It came WITHOUT the washer, so we ended up at the "box store" anyway-- couldn't find it there, so we ended up at a local mom & pop store and found it immediately. It was the ONLY reason we bought the kit--for the washer.1Does NOT work with Moen 7100 series of kitchen faucetsMoen advertises this kit for use with their series 7100, 7400, 7600 and 7700 kitchen sink faucets. The instructions that come with the kit do a good job of showing what parts go with which series. If you have an older series 7100 like I do, you will be surprised and disappointed to find out there is only ONE part out of this whole kit that can be used. It is a tiny "D" washer, highlighted in the picture. That's it! $20 for a washer. If your 7100 handle is not working properly - it turns the water on but won't turn the water off, and you have to push down on the chrome cap to turn the water off - then you should order the Moen 96790 kit, available on Amazon. That kit includes a piece of black plastic that is likely cracked or broken in your faucet. The new pice of black plastic will allow the handle to turn on the water and shut the water off like it did when the faucet was new. And oh yes, if you do need that D washer, you can get it from a Moen 96804 kit, also available on Amazon. That "kit" only contains the D washer and a screw for $9. Still expensive, but cheaper than $20.1
