Customer Reviews

Good purchase, rough edges on product quality.Received this very quickly - two days within ordering it. The box it was in was coming apart - some of the edges hadn't been sealed too properly with the glue. I had to use packaging tape to reinforce it. It's an easy tool to use, cleaning isn't too difficult - except for the fettuccine/spaghetti components - the manual shows cleaning them with a brush. The brush should have been provided and now at some point I'm going to have to swing by the hardware store to grab one.My two complaints - that damned handle keeps flying out. You have to be conscientious to keep pushing it back into the gear opening since as you turn it it will slowly slide out from the opening it is in. My other complaint has already been mentioned - which is that the brush to clean the fettuccine/spaghetti attachment is not included.Otherwise it works fine - it does an excellent job pressing and smoothing the dough and I haven't run into any major issues with the fettuccine/spaghetti attachments. Other people have complained about the clamp but I haven't had a problem with it - it's kept my pasta maker GLUED to that countertop. 3Makes Delicious Pasta! It's so easy to use and the results are fantastic. I've had mine for a month or two and it works as it should.I have to open the kitchen drawer to clamp it onto the counter, so you may have to get creative too. It's adjustable though I don't see why it wouldn't be able to clamp onto any regular table top if your counter doesn't work. The crank does fall out if you aren't careful, but you just pop it back in. The gear works fine.It did take running a lot of dough through the machine in order to get all the grease and metal bits out, but we got it taken care of.No one has ever gotten metal or grease in their food!Cleaning it is challenging, but that's the nature of pasta makers. I just brush mine out with a hard bristle brush and run a few paper towels doused olive oil through the machine. 4pasta machineOn other reviews of this product I read you are not suppose to wash this machine. I found that putting vegetable oil on a small piece of paper towel and rolling it through like pasta did a great cleaning job. I even did this on the cutting side to clean the cutters. The machine works very well and clipped nicely on my counter top. May not be the top of the line but for someone like me who makes pasta on occasion it works great. 5Love it!Easy to use. I've never used a pasta machine in my life but have seen many cooking shows where the chef uses one so I wanted to try it out for myself. I have a super tiny kitchen not meant for making anything elaborate but I was able to make it work and had no issues whatsoever. I made homemade ravioli and this made beautiful sheets. I never had any issues with marks or metal shavings and the hand crank was smooth-operating. I haven't used any of the other extensions but intend to do so but so far I am LOVING this contraption! 5Simple and fun way to make pasta! This is my second Norpro Pasta Machine (gave one previously as a wedding gift)... These are amazing! If you don't own a Kitchenaid or don't want to invest the money into an expensive attachment, this gadget is for you. It hooks onto the counter or any sturdy enough table and set up takes less than two minutes. Making the pasta dough itself is a simple flour and egg recipe - I prefer to make ravioli than long noodles as I find the blades may not be as sharp as I'd like and I'm left pulling the strings of dough apart by hand. All in all, this is a fun activity to do with family or friends and is very easy as far as setup and clean up. I usually pull this out once a month or so and have truly enjoyed! 5If you have 3 or 4 hands and don't mind super glueing it to your counter, you're going to love this!I bought this to introduce me to making noodles. It has issues with coming unhinged from the counter when you are trying to roll out or cut the dough which is extremely annoying. I find it hard to use with just one person because I have to hold one side down, turn the crank on the other side, and feed the dough through.....which can be difficult if you're a measly human like me and only have two hands. So I usually recruit my human kids and it's all down hill from there.I literally broke a sweat making noodles, which I guess helps with the whole carb issue thing from the noodles. 2Decent if you know what you're doingGetting started with this pasta machine was a lesson in frustration. This was my first experience with making pasta and there's a bit of a learning curve. Several reviewers have mentioned difficulty with cleaning the machine. I think a lot of the difficulty here might be due to making a too-wet dough. The first batch that I made was a mess. My dough was too wet and it stuck to everything. Luckily, this is the batch that I figured I'd have to throw out after using it to clean off the machine. With my second batch, I had the moisture right and it was much easier to clean. There were still some places that were difficult to clean, but it was pretty easy to pick it clean with a tooth pick. 4It is no good. I already returned it to seller yesterdayThe product is leaning or crooked, the blades are not straight .It is no good. I already returned it to seller yesterday. I took track number to them and wait for credit back. 1Metal flakes in doughI read all the reviews prior to purchasing this machine. One person had mentioned the machine had left metal flakes in the dough, but I decided to try it anyway hoping it was just a fluke with their machine. Unfortunately, I had the same problem. I've tried running multiple batches of dough through the machine. It worked great, and rolled thin dough very nicely, but unfortunately every batch has had little flecks of the metal coating come off into the dough. Otherwise it functioned just fine. Unfortunately, it was too late to return the machine once I tried it, but wanted to let others know that this has happened to multiple people. 2This is my new favorite kitchen toy!Aside from the fact I've been in a carb induced coma from all the pasta I'm making, this machine is very well made. Much heavier than I expected it to be. Super easy to use, the cutters work well and you can roll dough super thin. Make a batch of dough you plan to not eat because you cant wash this with water and you need to get the grease off the cutters and rollers and rolling dough through does the trick. Plus handling the dough and seeing how much flour you need to sprinkle it with so it doesn't stick is good practice. There are more expensive ones out there but I see no reason to buy one that's more expensive especially if it's a hand crank model. I'm all about expensive kitchen appliances, I collect those not shoes and this one at around $30 was the deal of deals. 5
