It needs to be longer and wider to fit appropriately ~ at least 4 inches all around3LOVE IT!LOVE, LOVE IT! It has the satin binding on ALL sides. It is not stretchy fleece stuff. It is more dense has a little bit of heft to it. I absolutely love mine. I know other reviews are complaining that it is not tumble dryable. But I have to say that I machine washed and dried mine before putting it on the bed and it came out fluffy and wonderful! I honestly don't know what will happen if I continue to wash and tumble dry over time. I guess I'll find out. But I'm thrilled with it's warmth and softness so it's a keeper for us!5Manufacturer directions: "Do Not Tumble Dry"Warm and cozy blanket with medium weight. I would have given it 5 stars but the care instructions specifically state "Do not tumble dry. Air dry only". Well I live in the North and I don't hang clothes outside in the winter. I don't recall this being stated in the online description. I probably wouldn't have bought it. The fabric is velvety soft and thick. It keeps me warm and toasty. It is made generously large so that I can completely cover the mattress and tuck it in. Most blankets are cut "skimpy" and I can't tuck them in. This is a good value for the quality of the blanket; I would expect to pay much more for it in department stores.5
