Customer Reviews

Recommended for Ash and Drywall DustI use these to clean ash out of a pellet stove and they do a good job of filtering the air while preserving the shop vac's cartridge filter. These yellow ones are well suited for fine debris pick up, like ash and drywall dust. I check the collar connection once in while with these since they tend to come loose when the filter bag starts getting full. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a better seal after the bag has been filled; It tends to let dust escape and occasionally makes a mess when changing out the bags. 4Worked Great on My Craftsman Shop VacI bought this to catch a lot of the fine dust from sanding on plaster ceilings and walls and it's worked great. You definitely want to use this bag on your shop vacs if your sanding plaster or drywall otherwise the fine dust will ruin your motor on the inside, this bag will catch it all and not allow it to circulate inside the unit where the main filter is. Drywall dust and plaster dust is so fine when sanding on it that it will simply go right through the filter that comes with most units and totally screw up your motor, these bags isolate the dust completely so you won't have that failure at all. 5They have worked well for the special purposes they're intended forI use these as part of a system in my woodworking shop. I have a cyclone style separator in line before my vacuum, then use these bags and a HEPA filter. The separator keeps almost everything from getting to the bag, so the relatively high cost of this type is not an issue. I'm not sure that I have ever cleaned off the HEPA filter in several years of use, so virtually nothing is getting past these bags. I have also used these bags when working with drywall joint compound dust and whereas an ordinary bag will allow that dust through, these have trapped the dust very effectively. 5Too BIG for a Craftsman 16g shop vacuumNot all 16G shop vacuums are the same size, I'm guessing. Reviews here suggested these would fit my Craftsman shop vacuum (model 113.177611). My vac is squat and wide, while I think other vacs out there are taller and less radius. The bags (which fit up to 22G units) are too tall to fit my Craftsman. There's a Craftsman bag model # 17893 that supposedly will fit. It would help if they provided the dimensions of the bags themselves, not the package they come in, in which the bags are folded up. 3Less expensive than local dealer, great bag for general use.Great product that makes clean-up a breeze. Don t throw away the black plastic deflector that you insert in this bag opening and slide into the Shop-Vac canister slot however(!). These bags see, to hold up all the drywall dust and have huge capacity. Price here was a few dollars less than at the local big-box Shop-Vac hardware dealer. 5Shop Vac Drywall BagsNice bags. Arrived well packed and with rapid shipping. But, be careful when unfolding the bag and be sure to carefully expand the bag and carefully insert it into the vacuum body, especially when connnecting the hose fitting to the vacuum and fitting it into the bag collar. It's too easy to create a small tear that will then leak and grow ever larger. They do a decent job with no visible drywall dust exiting the Shop Vac's exhaust port, but they are a little fragile and at more than $8.00 each for what is essentially just a good paper bag they are pricey. I am now using an extra long suction hose, about 16' long, and considering using a short hose on the exhaust to route any particulates outside that might escape the much less expensive standard bags. This 6.5 HP Shop Vac has more than enough power to handle the longer hose length and this way the tiny amount of dust that excapes through the much less expensive collection bags can be exhausted outside. If they were not so pricey they are the only bags I would use. 5Nice addition to my toolsetI am really happy with these bags. They are much stronger than the Craftsman bags I was using and they do not seem to clog as quickly. I can really fill these things up with sawdust, too. In addition to these bags I use a Goretex filter in my shop vacuum that I bought at the big box home xxxxx store; this filter is as helpful as the bags. One of my vacuums is attached to a cabinet saw with 4" to 2.5" adapters and I use a 5 gallon cyclone "bucket" to limit the amount of bags I have to buy. The 5 gallon cyclone was expensive but it paid for itself by limiting the number of bags I have to buy. I am totally satisfied with these bags. I wish they would go on sale so I could stock up at a better price but I have never then seen them go on sale. 5Why more people don't use bags on their shop vacs is a mystery to me!Why more people don't use bags on their shop vacs is a mystery to me! I no longer get clogged filters from saw dust. In fact, you could actually get away without using an expensive filter but I leave mine in just in case. I do a LOT of sanding and this filter bag is a life saver. I used to have to take the filter off at least once a week and bang it on the ground to extend the life of the filter, NO MORE! The bag just fills up I take it off, and toss it out. Best part is, I don't have to mess with it for months of regular use!I would suggest not using it to suck up metal debris or large pieces of wood but it works just fine with small pieces. 5Drywall dust can't escape this super high efficiency dust collecting bag!I bought these bags for my 22 gallon Shop Vac when I was building my garage. The drywall guys left a mess of drywall pieces and of course, DUST everywhere! They say water gets everywhere but I swear, drywall dust is worst yet. The bag was easy to install but I was skeptical of how well it would actually work. I turned on my vac and noticed it had full suction just like it would using the regular canister filter. I started sucking up drywall material and put my hand in the exhaust air of the vac. No specs of dust were escaping the bag and the exhaust was clean! I couldn't believe it. I filled up one bag and used the other with no issues.Next, I used this on a floor grinder with diamond blades as I was scraping down a concrete floor. Again, absolutely no dust escaped the bag.My wood stove had been unused for 2 weeks and I thought I would try the bags out (DO NOT use these bags with hot embers!) I sucked up all the ash fines and had nothing escape through the bag. I was simply amazed. I paid about $250 for an ash vacuum when I could have paid $25 for two of these bags. I'm sold! 5Filters out fireplace ash perfectly. Love these bags! Be careful with the cardboard detaching from the hole though.I use these in my shop vac to clean up all kinds of dust and debris. The most impressive thing is that I can vacuum out my fireplace ash (not anytime after a fire, of course) and the air that exhausts from the vac is nice and clean. No ash leaves the vacuum when I'm doing it.The only problem I've had is the cardboard structure around the hole can degrade and detach from the bag resulting in the loss of a good seal. Make sure you don't get a bag that is too small for your vacuum or this can make the problem worse. 4
