Customer Reviews

Low price + impressive performance! I recently received a free 1.75 Gpm shower head from my local utility to save energy. It was the worst shower head I've ever used! In my search for a replacement shower head, I happened across this one. The reviews were good & at $5 + free shipping, it was priced right! I figured if I didn't like it, no great loss...The pros:+ Low cost with Free shipping.+ very good reviews.+ A roll of Teflon thread sealing tape is included.+ 2.0 Gpm = lots of water pressure, had to turn it down! :)+ If the shower head plugs, a quick wipe with a finger will unplug it.The cons:- Not the best looking shower head. This is by far the lowest cost & best shower head I've ever purchased! You can bet I bought a spare one! Update - January 15, 2014This shower head has been working perfectly since I installed it nearly 2 years ago! I even bought a second one, just in case & I haven't had to install it. Plenty of water pressure, have to turn it down & none of the jets have clogged. :) Update - July 13, 2016This shower head is still working perfectly, so I haven't had to install the spare one I bought. :) 5Killer deal 5 bucks?! Yea it looks like a 5 dollar shower head , but it's functional which works for me.We have a slumlord who acts oblivious to leaking faucets, won't follow through with a promise to replace a 30+ year old washer, has broken things replaced with old, used things... you get the idea. This is our second time replacing the shower head since moving in 2+ years ago and since the slumlord didn't bother to reimburse much less thank us the first time, I thought screw putting a $20-40 fixture in a house he doesn't maintain. It was a piece of cake to install. Literally screw off the old one, remove old tape. Wrap new tape, screw on, and done! No leaks, nothing!I really like how it won't clog- if you get calcium deposits you just flick the blue part with your nail and it'll come right off. The only complaint is that the spray is pretty narrow and I wouldn't mind a stronger flow. I'm going to take out the black screen like another user did and see if it gets any better.I might even take this little guy when we move! 5Good quality for the price Well, it is a plastic shower head that appears to be of high quality. I was interested in a couple essential features.A good balance between water conservation and shower experience. The shower had a good water coverage and the flow is rated at 2.0 gpm which appears to in the range considered water-conserving. There is 1.5 gpm version of the same product on the market, but I was afraid the water flow will constrained too much and may not give a good shower experience. In addition, I have installed a shut-off shower valve that has a reduced port upstream of the shower head and I was afraid water flow will be restricted even further. So, I settled for the 2.0 GPM version. The 2.0 gpm head in conjunction with Danco 89171 Shut-Off Shower Valve that I bought from Amazon worked very well. Let me digress a little bit and discuss the shut off shower valve. Using the shut off valve, I can now pause the water flow while I shampoo or apply soap. I no longer waste water. Note that the shut off valve does not close 100%. There will be some trickle flow with the valve in the closed position. It is better to call it a control valve instead of a shut off valve. This feature is by design because you should not use the shower valve as primary shut off valve. There may be building codes against using 100% shut off shower valve. The second feature was easy cleaning of solids that will eventually build inside the shower head. The shower head has flexible nozzles that you simply rub to get the solids out. Since it is new, I cannot test this feature, but it is the same method used by many other brands and there is no reason why it should not work.In summary, it is a good quality basic shower head that does the job very well and you you cannot beat the price. 5Super Spray Clean, Water Saving, Low Flow Amazing Shower Head 2.0 GPM Having tried several low flow heads, I finally just decided all I really want is a shower head that provides enough water to shower with and be able to get rid of the soap. Is that so hard? Many heads offered "massage" and all that turned out to be was a concentrated stream of water. So, I just started looking for a straight shower head that had more than 1.5 GPM of flow.I found this shower head and thought I would give it a try. Here is what I liked: 1. A straight forward shower with no adjustments that provides a decent amount of water and that feels good. 2. Enough water flow to rinse away shampoo and soap without feeling like you are waiting for Spring. 3. Easy to install, they even included Teflon tape to prevent leaks. 4. Easy to clean, just wipe you fingers across the shower head to get rid of any build-up. 5. VERY inexpensive! 6. Still only uses 2 GPM of water flow. What I did not like:Actually, there is not anything about this unit that I disliked. It is small, looks good, works as advertised, and inexpensive. What more can I say?I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a straight forward low flow shower head. 5Value Porduct. Supe-easy to install I share an apartment with 2 roommates, so when our old shower head decided to let loose we were on the market for a cheap, but functional replacement head that is easy to install. This product met all of our requirements ;-)Pros:- It is well designed, functional product- Affordable- Super easy to install (I replaced my old shower head with this one in less than 15 min)- Doesn't drip- No tools required for installation (keep in mind you might need tool to remove the old shower head)Cons:- Doesn't look fancy 5Finally, a decent showerhead at a reasonable price! In the past decade I've been on a search for a decent showerhead that doesn't break the bank.I've tried many different showerheads in the $1 to $30 price range and they've all either sucked, fallen apart after a few uses or got clogged up by hard water deposits in a month or two. There are several nice ones in the $80 and above range that I've tried at hotels and such, but that's more than I had wanted to spend for a showerhead. And I really HATE the ones that extend overhead and act as rain, it tickles my skin, especially my face, in a most uncomfortable way! I had finally found a showerhead that I liked at a local 99 Cents Only store, it was multi-function (ie- massage, etc), but I only ever left it in my favorite spray position. But I lost it when I moved (though I'm sure I packed it!). I made do with the one that was at my new place (it was a nice $80 one), but it finally failed. So in searching for a replacement I stumbled on this one. It's a basic design, lo-flo (though I couldn't give a rat's patutee about that) and more importantly - cheap! The photo uploaded to the product page showed what has to be the perfect flow of water and the rubber nozzle design means no hard water clogging. So I got one and installed it.I'm in heaven! Why couldn't this have come out years ago?? It delivered on all the promises, both explicit and implicit. It's my new favorite showerhead and I'm buying a spare!Dec 2, 2011 - quick update. I'm still in heaven!! The hard water here has clogged a few of the lower spouts but a quick brush of my finger cleared them right up, so I'm getting the full flow the head is capable of. And I wish I had gone to a flow controlled head earlier! Now I can crank both the hot and the cold and mix to the perfect temperature without affecting the force of the flow. If everything in life delivered on their promises this well... sigh...April 25, 2012 - another update, showerhead still working as good as the day it was installed. Have to occasionally rub my finger over the rubber nozzles to clear ones blocked by the hard water we have here, but then it's as good as new! With other showerheads the bottommost nozzles would be useless by now. And I can't get enough of having the flow control in the showerhead allowing me to set the perfect temperature without having to screw with the stream. Definitely a best buy! I picked up a spare a few months ago, but this one still looks and acts as if it's brand new, but better safe than sorry...Oct 22, 2015 - still going strong and all nozzles are still working (with the occasional rub)! 5It's perfectly adequate! Sufficiently satisfactory! If you're looking to have a transformative spiritual experience during your daily bathing sessions, or to feel as though a summer rain has just deluged your naked body with tiny droplets of liquid joy, I suggest you keep looking. On the other hand, if you (like me) enjoy stepping into the shower and stepping out 15 minutes later feeling clean with a minimum of fuss, look no further! This is absolutely the best US-legal showerhead available at this price-point--indeed, it's better than many that cost 5-10 times as much. This little doohickey only uses 2 gallons of water a minute, but its adequate pressure and great coverage blows the pants off many mainstream showerheads that use 2.5 gpm. And it only costs five bucks! It's not as amazing as black market showerheads that output 4-5 gpm, but then it never claimed to be. Also, Greenpeace representatives will personally egg your house if you use one of those (I've seen it).My favorite part about this showerhead is how the spray is perfectly even and sufficiently full-bodied. Most modern showerheads have a choice of 2 sprays--an o-shaped ring pattern around the outside (with no coverage on the inside), or a thin "massage" setting on the inside (that feels like you're being ground into a fine powder of dead skin). Or worse yet, the dribbling experience of both at once. Frankly, those designs do a pretty terrible job of getting you wet. This one penetrates my thick hair down to the scalp without making me feel like I'm being stung by thousands of angry hornets or being pelted by an elephant hose. It's not adjustable because it doesn't need to be. It won't make you a better person or make your morning coffee. But it will get you clean! No muss, no fuss, no ifs, ands, or buts. I will say this: if you can afford to spend $100+ on the same showerheads used in 5-star hotels (or don't mind breaking an unenforced federal law), you can do better. But if you're a budget-minded low-frills kinda guy (or gal) who just wants to get clean, this showerhead does the trick better than any other I've encountered. In conclusion, if you're looking at this showerhead and still hovering on the fence, buy it! You won't regret it. For only $5, this little guy provides a VERY decent shower (at very reasonable prices!). With this showerhead, I replaced a $30 Delta handheld unit that made me feel like I was being watered under a trickle of pond scum. This one is at least a million times better than my old one. Although, considering I would rather shower in my kitchen sink than under my old Delta, that's not saying much. 5Water saving and decent water pressure in the same unit? It's got 'em! So I bought one of these for our master shower and two of "1.5 GPM Sava Fixed-Mount Showerhead Finish: Chrome" for the guest showers. It works wonderful! Water saving and decent water pressure in the same unit? It's got 'em! The reason why I mentioned the two I bought for the guest showers is because I recently started using one of the guest showers and realized how little pressure they have. I like this one so much in our master shower, I'm back buying 2 more to replace the others. I have long hair and the water pressure does a great job rinsing shampoo/conditioner, so I can get in and out of the shower quickly to help save even more water. I live in the NV desert, so saving water is a priority for me, and I highly this showerhead. 5No-frills shower head that does the job. Just bought my first home and purchased this to replace the cruddy generic shower head in the bathroom attached to the spare bedroom. I am now renting that room out and my roommate loves this! It was a lot smaller than I expected but it still does the job. I don't have great water pressure in my house but you would never know it using this shower head! It has a nice, even spray with no drips or wonky streams going off in odd directions. And for $5...I can't even get out of Starbucks for less than that!I do kind of wish it came in all black/gray/fake metal, just for the sake of aesthetics, but really, how often are you going to look at your shower head? What really matters is that it works. And this one performs beautifully. So pleased with this purchase! 5Excellent for low water pressure I have very low water pressure in my home. If you take this showerhead completely apart (front and back), you'll see that the flow restrictor can be removed (note: after you have the showerhead disassembled, just push the restrictor from the front out the back). With my low water pressure, I'm still below the 2.5 gpm limit, but much better flow than before. Also, if you want to save hot water while soaping up, I recommend adding a shutoff like amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSWPYIG . This showerhead is compact and ideal for a shutoff. 5
