Customer Reviews

for a couple of days I scoured Amazon for a good product in my budget range Winco Stainless Steel Piano Wire Whip, 10-InchI desperately needed a whisk. Twirling the fork was becoming a bit much. So, for a couple of days I scoured Amazon for a good product in my budget range. And WALLAH! Along came Winco USA. Trepidation cautiously pressed the "enter" key and off flew the cyber order. The whisk, or as Winco markets the ominous Wire Whip so frenzied me I whipped the dickens out of that blueberry muffin dough arrived promptly, exactly as advertised and I like it.Some reviewers complain the handle at 1" across is too large for their hands. But I like it a lot better than the skinny handled whisks. Skinny = muscle cramps if there is a lot of "whipping" to do.The full length of the Winco Whip is around 9 1/2 - 10": the handle @ 4 1/2" long. The wire whip just under 5 1/2" long. The Stainless Steel Piano Wire Whip is sturdy and maybe a little heavy nothing flimsy like some of the smaller, skinner styles. I would say this is more on the professional chef model than Suzy HomeMaker baking Sunday's apple pie. But, Suzy could like this well built whisk. For the price, it offers a nice alternative for harder to whip dough, etc. My motto, "Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." At least this whisk whip won't bend or flail around in thick dough whereas a smaller, skinner whisk would demand a lot of hand, wrist and arm struggle.I didn't find it difficult to wash. Immediately after using I swished the Wire Whip in soapy water, then held it under a full flow hot water tap. Washed right off. Could be the trick is washing it right after using it.In the attached video I demonstrate the Winco Wire Whip making hot chocolate on this cold Wisconsin winter. Whipped right up. Yummy. Enjoy.I recommend this product and the Seller who delivered promptly with the product as described.5What a great whisk!!So, I feel like a fool getting excited about a freakin whisk, but, man, this one is great. It can take everything you throw at it (but I recommend you DON'T actually throw anything at it :) )Doesn't seem to scratch my non stick pans and works great on metal and glass too. It's now my go to whisk and I'm usually disappointed when it is in the dishwasher.it is dishwasher safe but I recommend that you put it in the silverware basket with the tines facing down so that no water gets inside the whisk handle part, You do not want that unless you like dishwasher water in your food. I don't5WOW! Amazing quality at any priceI'm really impressed with these. The wire is strong, the epoxy is cleanly applied and completely seals the wires to the handle, and it just feels like it will last for many years of hard use. They are a bit heavier than I'm used to but I'm sure I'll get used to it.5Love this whisk especially for the price they make great cheap giftsThis whisk is sturdy and hefty so it gives off a real sense of quality even though its very inexpensive. Already made batter, custards, and more sweets for the family with them. Its easy to clean and sturdy for those thicker batters. The piano wire is thick. Downside is the handle is metal so if oil gets on your hands it may be difficult to stir but I never had that problem.5Great Whisk!!!!Thank you to the Whisk maker for this product. It is just the right size for most pots and is well made. Where the handle joins with the (tines?) it is held in place with an epoxy of some sort, or super strong food grade something that is rock hard and clear. Which is great because it is super easy to clean. We put ours in our dishwasher and have never had a problem out of it. The read end of the handle may be a different story in the future though. I am not sure if it is water tight or not, we have never had water go in or come out of it but it seems like it could one day. But until it happens 5 stars!5I'm whipped!First- in order for my review to have any clout you need to understand my past relationship with whisks. I've never had one longer than a few months without the handle separating from the wire portion, or having wires come loose and detach. I can't explain it! I don't misuse them and I'm not an overly strong person, I even stopped putting them in the dishwasher hoping it would extend the use. When I saw this product I added it to my cart out of desperation because I had just broken another whisk that week and needed another. I did glance briefly at the reviews and it seemed like I wouldn't have much to lose considering the low price. It arrived quickly and was packaged just fine. I picked it up out of the box and just about giggled out loud with excitement! I couldn't believe how sturdy it felt! The weight is substantial, it's the heaviest whisk I've owned, but NOT in a bad way, in a quality way. It's not exhausting to use (referring to it's weight) and for the most part it's comfortable in my hand. I wish the handle were about a half inch longer but that is by no means a deal breaker. The wires are pretty close together making it really efficient. I've used this many times now and it's going strong.Bottom line: I would recommend this whisk to anyone, I LOVE it, and I'm going to buy more!5RUSTS and absolutely NO QUALITY CONTROLArrived with the tines assembled out of order so it fits together all funny instead of how the pictures show here. OK, fine, drives my OCD crazy but basically still functional as a whisk. Not even worth my time to write a review about despite the fact that this incredibly obvious mistake somehow passed by human beings at some point and was still shipped along. Forget poor quality control, how about no control whatsoever. Anyways, what pushed me into writing this review was the appearance of rust all over this "stainless steel" whisk that has only ever been hand washed and properly cared for. I included a photo of one of several of these fairly large rust spots- heed this and the other reviews about rust.1Great product for the price!I really like this whisk. It is durable and lightweight at the same time. I am not sure how else to describe it but it really does have a good feel in your hand. It is sturdy but not cumbersome or heavy. I like the nice clean look to it, like a tool that belongs in a professional kitchen.I am trading my old one out for this one. The handle is metal so it won't melt near heat (like my old one) and the amount of wires is more than any other I have owned (like my old one) so you get a nice froth to your eggs or whipped cream with much less time and effort. I highly recommend!5Very effective This whip has a lot more wires than average, so you can effectively mix stuff without fast movements that slosh stuff out of the bowl. It is sturdy enough that you can mash bananas with it, then stir them up. Stainless steel working good so far. Larger diameter handle is great for those with arthritis or carpal tunnel. 5Not a happy food prepperNot my favorite Whisk,I bought this to use almost every day as I make a lot of sauces. However I am very disappointed. After a few weeks of being used daily it has started to rust at the top of the handle where the splines go in.1Bad packaging, product came slightly damaged!!Product itself seems to be well made. I've used it in my kitchen for almost a week. handle is sturdy, and fits nicely in my hand. the wires themselves aren't flimsy. they seem to have put glue around the base of the wires to prevent them from coming out during use. My only complaint is the packaging itself.. I don't know what I was expecting but I surely wasn't expecting it to come with a piece of plastic rubberbanded to the handle and nothing else. plus they sent it in a minillia envelope which looked to be trampled in route. Product works fine after I had to stretch the wires back into place. And anyone who knows anything about whisks, knows that once you start pulling on those wires it's only a matter of time before it blows out... So let's keep our fingers crossed.. overall I can't say I'd recommend this item. No one wants to wait for a smashed whisk.. fix your shipping strategy and I would have no problem suggesting.4
