Lead-free brass is also harder, stronger, and more durable than regular leaded brass. Always wear safety goggles when handling or using compressed air.

Customer Reviews

Good quality as advertised. Bought this to connect to a standard outdoor faucet I installed on my lawn sprinkler system to allow connecting an air hose and blow out the water to winterize the system. 5DIY!!!! Must haveI paid $100 for the past 10 years for the winterization of my sprinkler system. $100 x 10 years is $1000. Fast forward until just this past year when I was home while my contractor was here doing my winterize service. I observed what they were doing. And was amazed by how easy this job was. I quickly hopped on amazon and then tried to find all the parts needed for this and found myself buying this handy little attachment. It works flawlessly for blowing out of supply lines. You attach it to one end of your compressor fitting and the other end to any fitting (size of a garden hose). Turn on the compressor and turn on the zones and viola. In $8 bucks you just saved yourself so much money. Please look no further. Buy it and do this yourself.5Great for winterizing garden hosesGreat for winterizing garden hoses. I bought both the male and female versions because I wasn't sure if I would have access to both ends of each hose. They both work great. I already have a compressor hose setup with a quick disconnect for attaching various pieces like an air chuck for car tires. This is a great adapter that doesn't require you to buy pieces and build a blow out. I used the adapter to blow out my 4 garden hose reels and my drip irrigation hoses. It took longer to pressurize my small compressor and take the compressor hose and adapter to each hose reel than it took to blow out all the hoses. The adapter simply screws into one end of the garden hose. Then you easily snap the other end into the quick connect on the compressor hose. And in seconds, the water is pushed out of the garden hose and the hose is ready for winter storage. Much easier than unrolling a 100 ft hose and lifting and hoping you drain all the water. One additional tip - the water will shoot out of the garden hose with some force so you may want to put a brick or other weight on top of the end of the hose so the hose doesn't fly around.5Works as intendedFits my compressor hose fitting like 5 or 6 other devices. Not too tight or loose. Connected well to the hose fitting and was leak free. I think it's a really good deal - there are several more expensive options to do the same task.5Works great for self-winterizing sprinklers! This makes it super easy to winterize your system by yourself. My shutoff valve box has a nipple for doing this, but it's something other than the typical compressor quick connect type fitting. Since I already have an outdoor faucet down in the garden that is part of the irrigation side of the shutoff valve, I can easily attach this adapter and use my compressor to blow out my sprinklers. Note that if you don't have a faucet on the sprinkler side, you can get parts at a hardware store to fit this adapter onto one of the sprinkler feeders itself, but you will need a way to force that valve open all the time during blow-out. This is not something most sprinkler controllers let you do.Note that you do NOT want to use this on a regular outdoor faucet on the house side of the shutoff valve!Steps to use this:1. Shut off the main sprinkler valve. This is probably at the street near your meter.2. Open the outdoor faucet and let as much water drain out by gravity as possible3. Attach this adapter, and then attach the compressor to it4. Start up the compressor and let it charge the tank.5. One by one, go through and open each sprinkler zone valve and let it run until it's just blowing air6. When you're done, close the faucetNote that you will need a "real" compressor for this. My 1 gallon craftsman compressor has a hard time keeping the line at 20psi while doing this. Be careful to stop and let the compressor cool off every few minutes.5Simple is BetterI use my own compressor to blow out my sprinklers every fall. I had a longer hose-style attachment that I could connect to my outside shut of valve, but it got lost. This looked like s simpler replacement witho no moving parts. It screwed right on to the shut-off faucet and I put my quick-connect compressor hose right on it.It worked perfectly with no leaks or problems. It is small and made of brass, so I just left it on all year. Good quality with simple design.5One quality made tool completes several jobs around the house.Quality brass hardware that made the chore of de-priming the camper and the sprinkler system a little bit easier. I ordered this last fall for both tasks, and have no complaints. I backed the camper up the driveway, started the air compressor, hooked up the hose, and easily emptied all the plumbing for the winter. I then swapped the hose over to the plumbing for the irrigation system in the yard, and let the compressor work on that while I opened each zone. In about 20 minutes the camper and the outside plumbing were ready for the winter, and this fitting got stored with the air-compressor for future use. I can't imagine I'll ever need to buy another one, and this saves me from having to buy anti-freeze for the RV or consider paying some service to manage my irrigation systems.5Can also help unplug WH drain from scale/sedimentHigh quality, excellent fitThis item proved to be an important key in recent project successWater heater flush every year (now 6 months) to prevent scale/sediment from building up, then (in a nutshell) rotting guts out prior to full lifetime (usually double the warranty period IF flushed regularly). This year first time WH wouldn't simply drain & flush out scale on its own.UTube demonstrated a coat hanger unclog method = water & scale blasts all over the room, so better be a basement with a floor drain! NO thanks.Insteadconnect this item to one of the Y arms of a brass Y-connector w/valvesconnect base of Y to new rubber hose capable of 100psi pressure ratedhose to WHconnect this item to pancake air compressor set to limit out at ~90psiopen valve to compressorclose valve to other Y arm that's open to the yardopen WH valve to hose drainOnce compressor reads ~60-70psi, open valve to Y arm to yard expecting a gush of water & WH sediment, scaleif not, repeat again, again until the scale/sediment gives up and you get a steady stream of cruddy waterclose valve to compressor, allow water to run quite a long time, since it WAS stopped up this last timecompressor offshut off WH valveSome prefer to also unplug WH prior to this operationthen plug it back in after all is buttoned up5Not anymore. It saved us 60 dollars a year. We ve had an air compressor for years. Not a very powerful one but had one nonetheless yet we continued to pay someone to winterize our sprinklers. Not anymore, with this very useful device I attach right to my compressor and sprinkler system. Although it may require extra effort if compressor is of low capacity. I m willing to do a little work to save money on something I only require once a year. 5Perfect...exactly what I wanted.Awesome, just what I was in need of. I was shopping online to locate the parts needed to make a hose-based adapter for blowing out my sprinklers, when I stumbled upon this. My original plan was to make this same adapter using two fittings on each end of a short length of hose. The price for those fittings and hose was going to be around $25.00 or more. This little guy was less than half the price of my original plan, it's much smaller and easier to store, and certainly more durable as there is really nothing to go wrong with the thing, other than perhaps the standard hose gasket falling out, but that is easy and cheap to replace if lost, and not the fault of the adapter itself.Bottom line - I'm super happy with this. It's simple, it works, its priced right, and its durable. What more could you ask for?5Made job a walk in the parkI've been a homeowner for many years and have always had a place to blow out my sprinkler system. This new house I bought did not except the faucet off the main feed. There was no place to add one either without digging up the pipe and adding one. For $8 I figured I'd try this as it was only possible solution. Worked like a charm. Nice brass piece and air compressor easily attached with the standard quick disconnect from the hose. Thought for sure I'd have to make something but this is a genius solution and glad someone produces it.5High Quality & Works Like a CharmI use this adapter each fall to blow-out a copper water line in my home that passes through an unheated garage. I don't want to store an actual air compressor for this purpose, so I use my tire inflator and this fitting. The fitting is well-machined and works beautifully. Highly recommended.5
